Africanopy’s Primary Entrepreneurs will be issued with a Business in a Box (BiaB) that includes a solar power supply, Wi-Fi Devices and TVWS equipment. They will be able to sell airtime, data and cellphone charging services to their customers at a much lower price than currently available from the incumbents.
Secondary Entrepreneurs are issued with similar equipment, without the TVWS items. They connect to the Primary Entrepreneurs using a Mesh Wi-Fi network, and are also able to sell airtime, data and cellphone charging services. AfriCanopy will train these entrepreneurs in both the technical and business aspects of their roles.
Local community members living within the 20 km base station TVWS coverage radius can apply to become Primary Entrepreneurs. Local entrepreneurs living within a 1 – 5 km radius of Primary Entrepreneurs can apply to become Secondary Entrepreneurs. Suitable Primary Entrepreneurs will be provided with Primary Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and other equipment and can be said to be Primary Business in a Box (BiaB) owners; and suitable Secondary Entrepreneurs will be provided with Secondary Entrepreneur equipment and can be said to be Secondary Business in a Box owners.
