The objective of this first NDP outcome is that in the year 2030, South Africans have education of the highest quality, giving them life-changing skills and knowledge. Education makes people’s life chances more equal and boosts incomes and economic productivity. In many rural communities, schooling is still substandard as schools lack valuable learning resources.

One of AfriCanopy’s objectives for this project is to provide 50 schools with free access to the Internet. By doing this, schools which previously had no access to the Internet will benefit from the valuable information base, and schools which previously paid for their Internet access will be able to productively spend the money on other necessary resources. Ultimately, the students and teachers at these schools will have access to more learning resources, enabling a better quality of education.
